DBA (Seattle)

Stored procedures, triggers, and UDFs, oh my!! We are looking for a resident database guru to take ownership of our SQL Server 2000 and 2005 databases.
Responsibilities include:

Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting multiple SQL Server 2000 and 2005 database servers; overseeing upgrade to SQL 2008
Managing database access and security, backups, replication, full text indexing, and scheduled jobs
Hardware sizing and planning
Analysis using traces, perfmon, and additional tools
Optimizing performance through configuration changes, index tuning, disk and system optimization, schema changes, and more
Schema creation and alteration using version controlled T-SQL
Monitoring production systems

The successful candidate will have experience working with large online applications, balancing competing priorities, and managing dynamic requirements. In addition to superior technical skills, this position demands a very strong communicator and someone who enjoys a highly collaborative, team environment. You will work closely with developers, testers, and operations personnel to maintain and improve database systems and the applications that rely on them. Required Skills/Experience:

5+ years as a SQL Server 2000/2005 DBA
Large DB experience: 100+ GB, 1000+ objects, tables with 100 million+ records
T-SQL: stored procedures, triggers, user-defined functions, views, DDL
Enterprise Manager, Management Studio, Query Analyzer, Profiler, ISQL, OSQL, SQLCMD, DTS, SSIS
Index tuning and modeling, query tuning, and database optimization
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team player

Preferred Skills:

.NET development in SQL 2005
Analysis Services, Reporting Services, business intelligence solutions, star schema, dimensional modeling, MDX
SQL Server 2008
